On April 3, 2024, ZachXBT revealed that Kyle was raising alarm bells on his Discord server, claiming his wallet had fallen victim to a hack.
The prominent blockchain researcher’s findings instead strongly suggested an intentional transfer of funds rather than an external hack.
Kyle accused of faking a hack
While investigating an alleged hack involving a ‘social gamer’ Kyle, and a lesser-known NFT project called ‘NuddiesNFT’, ZachXBT uncovered a disturbing story full of lies and deception. However, the popular detective on the chain revealed a different story.
Within hours of the alleged hack, 94 SOL tokens worth approximately $12,000 were traced to a deposit address on the exchange. Then, using time analysis, he found a destination transaction for 3.42 ETH, worth approximately $11.7K.
The Ether was then used to purchase high-value NFTs, specifically DeGods 2921 and y00t 10991, which were immediately transferred to Kyle’s public ENS address.
Kyle reportedly brazenly flaunted the ill-gotten gains, with the DeGods NFT as his profile photo on social media platforms. This brazen display is further compounded by their post-hack behavior, which saw them switching to sharing motivational quotes in Discord, seemingly oblivious to the blockchain’s indelible record of his actions.
However, ZachXBT’s latest research serves as a sobering reminder of the transparency inherent in blockchain technology, despite rampant scams and carpet pulling.
Shortly after ZachXBT’s post, Kyle deleted his X account (formerly Twitter).
As for NuddiesNFT, the project said the creator’s wallet was replenished with $12,000. The private keys, on the other hand, were entrusted to two members of the community. After Kyle’s removal, new owners were also brought in to monitor the project.
While some investors remained hopeful about the project, others claim that Nuddies is yet another fraudulent NFT project that could soon be shut down.
ZachXBT Unmasking Fraud
ZachXBT has been unmasking popular influencers since 2021 for promoting questionable tokens and projects, investigating suspicious activities, and exposing fraudulent entities. His targets range from Crypto Rover, BitBoyCrypto’s Ben Armstrong, Lark Davis, DannyCrypt and many more.
The detective even pointed the finger at American YouTuber Logan Paul.
