AAVE price has suddenly accelerated, surging more than 16% during the latest move as traders react to a major expansion of Aave’s tokenized-equity lending market and renewed discussion around AAVE’s tokenomics. The rally has pushed AAVE toward the $166, extending a sharp recovery from its September lows. With Coinbase tokenized stocks now usable as collateral on Aave V4 and a potential burn mechanism entering the conversation, the latest move has given AAVE a new fundamental catalyst alongside a decisive technical breakout.
Aave Brings Apple, Nvidia and Tesla Into DeFi Lending
Aave V4 on Base has launched its Equities Hub, allowing eligible non-U.S. users to deposit seven Coinbase-issued tokenized U.S. stocks as collateral and borrow USDC against them. The initial lineup includes Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia and Tesla. The stock tokens are collateral-only at launch, while USDC is the sole borrowable asset. Chainlink provides the onchain pricing infrastructure for the tokenized equities.
The rollout gives users a new way to access dollar liquidity without selling their tokenized equity exposure. Each stock has its own collateral factor, while the initial market includes borrowing and supply limits designed around available liquidity and risk parameters.
The service is restricted to eligible users outside the U.S., as the Coinbase tokenized stocks are offered under Regulation S. Aave said additional tokenized stocks and GHO as a borrowable asset could be added later, subject to governance and risk review.
AAVE Burn Mechanism Could Change the Tokenomics Story
AAVE price rally is also being fueled by a new discussion around Aavenomics 3.0. Aave founder Stani Kulechov said the protocol is considering adding AAVE burns to its existing buyback program. The proposal would mark a potential shift from simply repurchasing AAVE with protocol revenue toward permanently removing some tokens from circulation.
Aave already has a buyback framework funded by protocol revenue. Its documentation lists a $50 million annual budget, with weekly purchases ranging from $250,000 to $1.75 million depending on market conditions. Repurchased AAVE currently goes to the DAO Ecosystem Reserve rather than being burned.
AAVE Price Analysis: Can the Breakout Reach $200?
AAVE’s price chart shows a clear rounded-base breakout after months of accumulation. AAVE spent much of July and August moving inside a broad $90–$115 consolidation range before breaking higher in September.
The breakout above roughly $120–$125 came with a sharp increase in volume and was followed by a rapid move toward $166. AAVE token has also moved above the major moving-average cluster, strengthening the trend reversal. The immediate resistance sits around $168–$175. A clean move above this zone would open the path toward $180–$185, followed by the larger $195–$205 supply zone. That makes $200 the key psychological and technical test for the current rally.
On the downside, $145–$150 is the first support area. Holding that zone would keep the breakout structure intact, while a deeper retracement toward $125–$135 would test the previous breakout region. The momentum is strong, but the steep rise also leaves AAVE vulnerable to short-term profit-taking. A successful retest of the breakout zone would provide a stronger technical foundation for another leg higher.

AAVE’s latest rally is being driven by more than short-term momentum. Tokenized stocks are expanding the protocol’s lending use case, while the potential burn mechanism has reopened the token-value discussion. The chart has simultaneously shifted from accumulation to breakout, giving bulls a stronger structure to defend. The next phase depends on whether AAVE can hold the breakout area and absorb overhead supply as the rally approaches its next major resistance.
