Web3 developer Find Satoshi Lab’s latest project launch, a video game called Gas Hero, has generated about $90 million in NFT trading since its launch earlier this month, the company said in a statement.
“Tsix different Gas Hero NFT collections are currently available here, all of which are now claiming top positions on the trading volume charts,” the company said.” Users of the game are actively trading various characters, weapons and other Gas Hero items as NFTs on Polygon PoS.”
Gas Hero’s top-performing NFT collection, Gas Hero Common Heroes, is the fifth most traded collection in the last 24 hours, according to CryptoSlam! facts.
Find Satoshi Lab is perhaps best known for creating the blockchain-enabled fitness app Stepn that has been downloaded millions of times. Stepn is a move-to-earn app that offers consumers the opportunity to purchase digital sneaker NFTs that they can then use to earn token rewards by “walking, jogging, or running.”
In an effort to drum up interest in its latest project, Find Satoshi Lab announced last July that it would award more than 2 million GMT tokens (about $400,000 at the time) in an effort to promote Gas Hero. The company said Wednesday that there is currently one more 14 million GMT “up for grabs” that will be awarded to players participating in “Gas Hero’s Gas Wars PvP Battles.”
Polygon bullish on new play
Polygon Labs seems pleased with the results so far. “Gas Hero’s popularity is indicative of the current demand for Web3 gaming,” Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon Labs, said in a statement. “The game’s broad appeal, as illustrated by its early success, is a positive sign of the trajectory our ecosystem is on as we witness a new type of gamer entering the Web3 sphere.”
Find Satoshi Labs said Gas Hero currently has more than 10,000 active users. Prospective players do not need to download the game and can play on both mobile devices and computers, the company said.
