Polkadot-based Astar Network joins entertainment giant Sony for a collaborative blockchain platform in partnership with Startale Labs, a renowned player in Web3 infrastructure.
Startale Labs CEO Sota Watanabe has revealed the teaser of the final launch timeline for the blockchain partnership with Sony. The unveiling of “Sony Network Communication Labs” is expected in the coming months, as evidenced by Watanabe’s recent tweet.

On September 12, Startale Labs and Sony Network Communications, a subsidiary of the $108 billion Sony Corporation, officially united to create an innovative blockchain system. The partnership aims to make a significant impact in the Web3 space with Sony Network Communications.
Following a global call for entries, 19 projects were selected from more than 200 applications based on their synergy with Sony Network Communications and Astar Network.
The company focuses on three main objectives: to revolutionize entertainment and creation experiences, to support creators and artists through Web3 and NFT technologies, and to introduce services around the theme of the Digital Twin. The launch timeline has been set and the partnership promises exciting developments in the coming months.
In June, Sony announced a $3.5 million investment in Startale. Startale Labs is the entity behind the Polkadot Parachain Astar Network. It debuted last year as a smart contract platform for crypto applications, using the ASTR token.
