The Netherlands tops the list of the Most Metaverse Ready countries. Uswitch’s study took into account many factors, including broadband speeds and the number of blockchain startups in a given country. The Top 10 also includes countries such as Malta and the United Kingdom, which are known for their Web3 ecosystems.
Who were the most metaverse-ready countries?
The Netherlands took first place for Metaverse Readiness with a score of 7.74 out of 10. The score makes sense given the country’s high median broadband speeds and the country’s healthy high-tech exports.
In addition, Switzerland in second place and Malta in fourth place were the only countries in the Top 10 with more than 30,000 Google searches per million people. So what’s the meaning? Great interest from the general public.
Where was the United States on the list?
The United States did not make the Top 10 list, but was close behind in 12th place Metaverse Ready land. The US has the highest average download speeds, but ranks low for high-tech exports.
Remember when Switzerland and Malta both showed great public interest? The United States is also showing interest, but not with the same vigor. Google searches hover around 21,000+ per million.
What does this mean for adoption?
The list paints a picture of the growing interest in the metaverse. People are looking for it en masse and the infrastructure is available in many places. However, only time will tell how these positions shift. What is certain, however, is that the public is gearing up for the metaverse.
