Over the past year, Azuki’s path to NFT fame has been filled with unparalleled hype and in-depth knowledge. An undoubtedly influential blue-chip collection; while holders sometimes felt like things were moving slowly, an exciting new chapter of Azuki has officially arrived.
While the Azuki ecosystem has undergone several unique expansions in the past, this latest initiative may be the most extensive yet. At a highly anticipated “Follow the Rabbit” event held on the night of June 23 in Hakkasan Las Vegas, Azuki co-founder Zagabond famously announced the upcoming Azuki Elementals collection.
Azuki Elementals announced
Planned as a night of party and fanfare, Follow the Rabbit came with the connotation that something big was on the horizon. And thankfully, those in attendance didn’t have to wait long for Zagabond to reveal the details. “Check your goddamn wallets,” he declared against a red backdrop in a video reminiscent of the video preceding the Beanz announcement, prompting cheering attendees to hurriedly follow suit.
Encompassing four different “domains” and rarity levels, Elementals is a sister collection to the original cast of 10,000 Azuki NFTs. With a total of 20,000 tokens, the forthcoming venture will go on sale on June 27, with all Azkui and Beanz holders getting access to the pre-sale the same day at 9am PT.
But that’s not all, as during the Follow the Rabbit, all Azuki holders received early access to the upcoming launch, with each receiving an airdrop of an unrevealed and locked Elemental that will only become accessible for transfer after the Elementals sale of June 27. In addition, all Azuki and Beanz holders were awarded a Soulbound Token (SBT), called an “Elemental Chip”, to commemorate the event.
Given the high-profile nature of this impending drop, those who wish to participate will want to take precautions to keep themselves and their belongings safe. Azuki reiterated the importance of robust wallet and account security, reminding his followers on Twitter to be wary of bad actors and always verify information before taking action.
“In the run-up to the coin, it is crucial to remain vigilant at a time when phishing links and scams masquerading as Azuki will be on the rise,” Azuki wrote. in a tweet. “Your safety is our top priority. Here are some tips to stay safe.”
Launched in January 2022, Azuki has been lauded for persevering in the midst of a bear market and even overcoming controversies to emerge as one of the most successful PFP projects in the NFT space. The Elementals coin will surely be a pivotal point for the Azuki ecosystem, with its ripples being felt throughout NFT space. At the time of publication, the bottom price of the project is just above 15 ETH ($28,500).
