The intersection of technology and culture is vast: it includes visual artists, programmers, fashion designers, filmmakers, business magnates, utopians and self-proclaimed revolutionaries. At SCENE we constantly talk to these colorful and outspoken innovators: about their work, their creative visions and how they want to reshape the world of art, fashion and entertainment.
But now we’re taking them off the script to get to know the personalities behind the projects.
Our new video series, 5 Questions with SCENE, will ask these culture makers the tough questions: What are their least favorite cities? Their drugs of choice? Their greatest artistic fantasies? What exactly is it that disgusts them so much with candy corn? Each episode will feature a new guest from the worlds of art, fashion, film, music and sports.
To kick things off, our first guest on the 5 Questions hotseat is Kevin Rose, co-founder and CEO of Evidence– the technology company behind the hugely successful Moonbirds NFT collection, among other projects. After the great debut of Moonbirds last year, which yielded a lot $280 million in two days—Rose, who previously co-founded Digg, has steadily expanded Proof’s offering, while the Proof Collective, a members-only club of 1,000 NFT collectors.
We talked to Kevin many times on the state of Proof and Moonbirds, and how these projects are navigating the current market. But today we’re going a different route – so if you’ve ever wondered about Kevin’s childhood dreams, relationship with the word “bitch,” thoughts on masculinity or militant stances on Halloween candy, you’ll finally have answers.
